Media language practice
Media language is the use of different camera elements to create a sense or meaning of the scene to the audience and show what the scene is trying to represent only through the camera shots.
such as in the Doctor who extracts various shots are used to show Martha jones and the antagonist in different scenarios throughout the extract like in the clip where the doctor is shown from a high angle showing him weak and small among other, whereas antagonist is shown from a low angle showing him as the superior and powerful or in control he is amongst other people in the room. Marhta jones is shown from close up showing her expression and how vulnerable she is compared to the antagonist however the expression in a close-up shot throughout the extract starts to change as protagonist Martha jones gains confidence and capability over the situation. The mid shots are used to show the body language of the antagonist and the people who have been held captive with the guards fully armed with vests and gun surrounding them making a sense of the extract showing the weak side of the protagonist while everything starts to change in favor of protagonist throughout the extract.
