Sound waves are the vibration of an object. We are exposed to many sounds in our daily life of which some could be pleasing as well as annoying.
When sound is captured it transforms into audio which is in pure waveforms, audio is measured in hertz. Any captured sound playback on devices such as music or voice mail is audio.
Echo and reverb
Reverb and echo is a delay in sound, in-depth it is the reflection of sound waves from an object back to the listener.
Mono and stereo
Mono is when only a single channel is used in recording and playback such as a microphone recording a voice mail is a monophonic recording.
Stereo is when more than two-channel are used for recording and playback which creates an effect of hearing sound from different directions such as the speaker placement in cinemas. The most simple placement is where there are two speakers left and right and a woofer in front.
