Different camera shots
-What is a camera shot?
A camera shot is the number of frames shot until the camera stops. The camera sot is an essential part of filmmaking because it consists of different angles, shots, movement, and composition. Today we will discuss the different types of camera shots.
Extreme/long shot
In an extreme long shot the camera covers up a wide area around the main object, this is shot from a distance and mostly focuses on the surrounding of the main object. The long shot is shot that covers up the object from his head to his toe. There is a medium/knee shot that covers the object till its knee.
The medium close-up shot consists of starting from the main object to the mid of their torso. This is used to show the character's facial expression and emotion while covering a small count of background.
Close up
this shot is taken slightly from close with the face and only shoulder blades showing.
Big close up/extreme close up
A big close-up shot is taken very closely, this shot only covers the facial features from the forehead to the chin whereas an extreme close-up shot intends to focus on only one part of the face such as the eyes.
These are then the common shots such as two/three-shot where there would be two or more people in the shot more than three people is called a group shot and over the shoulder shot which is taken from another person shoulder perspective.
